You should be able to remove Desitin ointment (zinc oxide diaper rash ointment) from clothing by first scraping off as much of the ointment as possible with a dull knife. Then, pour some baking powder on the spot, give it time to absorb the grease, then brush off. Saturate the stain with liquid laundry detergent or a laundry stain remover. Wash as usual.
MY ELDERLY CLIENT HAS DESITIN ALL OVER HIS SHEETS AND IT DOES NOT COME OUT IN THE LAUNDRY, I WAS LOOKING TO HELP HIS FAMILY..THIS IS A BIG HELP, THANK YOU JANE
WOW!!! AMAZING IT WORKS!!
Thanks soo muchh!! I never thought I would find such accurate advice...and now my oufit is perfect.
this is very interesting information i have been looking for this forever.
This is no good...I just tried it. It's a lot of work and then after all of that it doesn't work. Sorry. What just worked for me was dawn dish soap and a tooth brush. Soft scrubing with hot water then wash as usual. My son got it all over his stuffed animals, jeans, and shirt. And there was a lot of it! So this works...that doesn't.
I will try this. Unfortunately, my son sat on my fabric chair after having Zinc Oxide put on his bum. I hope the above method can work......minus the washing machine step!!
It's on my couch but unfortunately it didn't do much -
will try... drycleaners can do it but expensive
I called the Destin contact but could not get advice about cleaning my Mom's clothes, wheelchair, bath chair after we used Destin cream on her for a rash. She is 89 years old and I am sure we are not the only ones that have had this problem.
