To clean your leather gloves, slip them onto your hands, then wash with cold water and mild soap. Air dry flat. You could also use either saddle soap or Murphy's Oil Soap to clean up dirty leather.
I would try this suggestion first on an old pair first because ,it doesn't sound as though that would be good for the leather .
we always use murphy's oil soap on our horses' tack. it does a great job cleaning and conditioning leather. lexol leather conditioner works to condition and restore dry leather without changing its color.
