To remove makeup stains, rub shampoo or dish detergent (preferrably a grease cutting formula), or shampoo into the stain. You could also try spraying with hairspray or using a non-oily makeup remover to remove the stain. Then, launder as usual.
This site is the best!

I want to buy a blouse that has foundation makeup on the satin collar. The store won't take it back if the stain doesn't come out? What are the chances of these stains coming out?

I used a "non-oily makeup remover " to remove make-up stains from my hat
THIS WEB SITE ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!
Regular old shaving cream works too. Rubbed in then wash.
Ajax dishwashing soap removed the makeup stains on my Columbia ski jacket in seconds. Just a small amount of soap on a brush, blot it with a paper towel and all make up was removed.

The dish detergent worked for me!
dish detergent does the job if you have an oily base foundation!!!
what if it's a fabric that cannot be washed but only dry cleaned?
Thank you! you've just saved my favourite black skirt!
This site is awesome!! I did the same as laura above and the dish soap (dawn) took it right out, even after being washed!! THANK YOU

I took the information and i didn't have dish detergent and I didn't have shampoo for oily hair but I did have anti-acne face-wash. It worked like a charm in seconds.
Has anyone tried this on fake fur? I've smudged foundation on the collar of a fake fur jacket and as it's white, it looks really messy.
Sent apparel for dry clean but still came back with lip gloss stain. Tried this and it worked wonders!
Detergent didn't work on my dress. Came out exactly the same.
it worked :)Thanks lol
brilliant! it solved my agony....thanks a lot
I used walmart brand dish soap and it came out...whehew!!!!! The makeup (oil free) has been sitting on my favorite shirt for a week now. I almost threw it away, but tried this today using a toothbrush and it came out!!! Thank you , thank you, thank you!!!!!
Worked for the most part. I had a shirt that I wore to a special event and while hugging someone I got their makeup on my sleeve. I washed it and there were still streaks of makeup on the sleeve. Used baking soda and scrubbed like crazy after having it sit for over two weeks and got most of the stains out. Now its hardly noticeable unless you are starring daggers at the sleeve.
I had concealer all over the sleeve of a brand-new, cream-colored mostly viscose knit top that I'd treated, washed and air-dried.. and THEN realized it was still a big stain. I used the dish detergent, figuring if it didn't work, I'd need to throw it out. It worked beautifully!! There was barely anything left. I treated the light mark left, and washed one more time and it was totally gone. Awesome tip! Thank you!!
Going to give the dawn dish soap a try. Got a $200 pure white Micheal Kohrs sweater back in January on clearance for $40. Dropped my foundation bottle and 3 brown splash marks now adore this gorgeous sweater I never even got to wear it :( . I immediately ran it under cold water and used white bar soap but no luck. I also tried oxi-clean & cold water. I just tossed it in the wash with the dawn dish soap now 5 months later. Can't hurt to try I suppose. :/
Good old dishwasher liquid (fairy) did the job that vanish and arial couldn't. Easy and quick, foundation marks disappeared before my very eyes!
Thanks for the tips! Managed to save two white blouses and a white blazer!
