How can I stop my new jeans from fading?

Keep Jeans Looking Like New

To prevent a new pair of jeans from fading when washed, soak them in 4 tbsp. of vinegar mixed with 5 quarts of water for about 30 minutes. For added insurance, wash them inside out.

i recommend also drying them inside out after washing them inside out in cold water..this goes for all coloured clothing. it not only saves the colour of the clothing but also reduces piling and keeps your clothing looking new. this is years of practice speaking keeping my kids clothing looking new! everybody loves my hand-me-downs ;o)

My grandmother also taught me to wash jeans inside out...another great thing she taught me to do was to only dry them in the dryer for about 8 minutes (while still inside out), just to get the wrinkles out, then hang them up to dry. This process has more than DOUBLED the "life" of my jeans. ;~D

Question: Do you do this every time you wash them or just the first time? Thanks!
