How do you get melted crayon out of clothing?

1 Melted Crayon + 1 Load of Laundry = 1Big Uh-Oh!

There's tons of advice on how to get crayon out of clothing but so far the most recommended is: 20 Mule Team Borax and hot water.

Soak the clothing in the hottest water possible with the Borax. Follow measurement directions for your load size to the tee- Borax has a tendency to be hard on fabrics. Wash your clothes and check the results. Depending on the amount of damage done by the crayon, you may need to wash more than once.

I tried this the first time I had melted crayon all over clothes when I opened the dryer door. It worked the first time I rewashed. I was amazed!!!!!
It has happened again and I looked up this site because I could not remember what water temp worked best.

Any ink or crayon can be taken off surfaces, walls or clothes with ZEP cleaners. There is a special one for grafitti. It also takes permanent marker off most surfaces and most clothes (depending on the material). It is completely safe to all surfaces and all materials.

I will try this. I dried a load of whites and there was blue all over my clothes. Still don't know how the crayon got in the load of clothes.

My daughter gave me her whole load of pants from her 3 boys, what a mess. I did just what they said and it works wonderful. After trying WD-40 even the smell went away.
