How do I clean mini blinds?

Cleaning Mini-Blinds

Many ofus pause when coming across mini-blinds at our local home improvement center. Sure they look nice, but the cleaning! It's bad enough to spend a day cleaning windows, but spending hours getting dust and dirt out of micro blinds is not anyone's idea of how to spend weekend. Here's a window cleaning tip to speed up the process: Use the hose attachment on your vacuum cleaner. You won't even need to remove the blinds if you don't want. A dryer rubbed along the blinds will also quickly remove dust and alleviate the static so dust won't build up as easily.

I also find that the long handled swifer sticks with the blue duster works very well. You turn the blinds to do the front start at the top and rub the swifer down to the bottom, and can turn them around to do the back. I find this much easier since the swifer stick is very light.

use static guard on the swifter first and it will repel the dust from returning.

I have read the tip that was printed. In the last paragraph, it was unclear what was ment about the "dryer". I suppose the intention was to read "A dryer sheet rubbed along the blinds...." I find dryer sheets cause more of a build up on things, unless I use a previously used one. The television screen is a great place to use an old dryer sheet to decrease static and dust. But remember to clean it occasionly with cleaner to reduce the film build up that the dryer sheet creates.
