Easier Bird Cage Cleaning
For easier pet stain removal, stack seven or eight pages of old newspaper in the bottom of your bird cage, and remove them one at a time as they become soiled. This will not only save you from having to deal with a pet stain directly on the bottom of the cage, but it will also save time since you won't have to keep lining the cage with clean newspaper.

I was lining my bird cage with layers of newspaper for approx eight years and yes it is a good idea, now however I use plain white napkins. They are softer to work with, you can wipe them over the cage where neccessary and you dont get newspaper print all over your hands.

THERE'S ALOT MORE TO CLEANING A BIRD CAGE THAN CHANGEING NEWSPAPERS. IF YOU HAVE TOO MANY PAPERS IN THERE AND THEY GET DAMP IT WILL ATRACT BUGS.NOT A REAL GOOD IDEA.

This is an excellent idea, especially for smaller birds. If you have a large parrot, as I do, one way to make clean up easier is to line the botton with heavy contact type self adhesive paper (which isn't actually paper) and then put downthe newspaper. This makes clean up easy and protects the botton from rusting.

I do the same with trash bags for all trash cans. Put several in bottom of trash can so each time you change trash bag there's a fresh one handy. (just make sure bags are free of holes in case of liquids)
