No doubt, the person in your home who handles washing the dishes knows a thing or two about removing baked on food from pans and casserole dishes. Still, this kitchen cleaning tip might be appreciated. If, when washing dishes, one encounters a pot or pan with burned on food, one should put the scrubbing brush away. Instead, place a dryer sheet in the pan, fill it with hot water and let it sit overnight. In the morning it will just need to be sponged clean. Apparantly, the anti-static agents loosen the bond between the food and the pan while the fabric agents soften the baked-on food.
A much cheaper and easier solution is to use liquid fabric softener. I keep a bottle of it under my sink for this purpose. You can get it cheap ($1) at the dollar stores.
This is a very good idea. I just put water in the pan with dish washing liquid and boil it. I wrote once before, but being an old lady, I don't know what URL means.
I use baking soda & water, bring to a boil and let sit and by the time you're ready to wash the pots, your pan is also ready to wash and no sitting overnight.
how to get rid of kleenex that was in my washer
i have a crockpot downstairs with superbaked-on crust on it. i'm going to try it right now. THANK YOU!
How about...food and grease burned on to the stove top? I don't always clean well before having to do something at high heat, and I end up with a stubborn burned-on ring around my burners that, short of spending a few hours scrubbing, doesn't come off.
