If food isn't scraped from your plate before washing the dishes, there's a good chance it will go down the drain and cause it to run a little slow. Run hot water through the slow drain and chase it with a couple of cups of vinegar. Dump about a quarter cup of baking soda into the drain, follow with another cup or so of vinegar. Let sit at least 10 minutes and flush with hot water.
yes, it really works.
Even though I'm careful to get food scraped before I even put them in the sink to rinse and wash, my sinks were noticeably slower in draining water. I just now tried this solution and the results were immediate! Thanks! I'm going to continue to do this (prophylacticaly) every few months.
Yes this works, and it is very safe for septic tanks.
what does it do, dissolve the food? Does it work on sinks that are clogged with hair? (grin)
yes, it works, I do all my drains this way
Been doing this for years once a week even if the drains aren't running slow and with 4 kids you KNOW food is getting dumped in the drain. Haven't had a plugged up drain in 6 years!
It also gets rid of odors.
