You probably didn't count on cleaning superglue from your countertops when going about your regular kitchen cleaning. What to do? Nail polish remover with acetone should remove super glue from most kitchen countertops without harming the surface, as should WD-40. If neither of these products work, you'll want to ask the advice of a countertop installation professional.
thanks. that helped alot.
It is a very good help for everyone who faces the problem. I would have started with a knife, rather than a chemical solution.
Thanks
w-d 40 is good for just about everything even bee stings
WOW, it works, but let the nail polish settle on the spot for a couple of minutes for best results.
That's the first thing I thought to use...NAIL POLISH REMOVER! However, it was Marble counter top and the combination of super glue and nail polish remover left a noticeable pit in my beautiful marble surface! Be careful now!
or a razor blade works wonders as well :D
No elbow grease even. Thanks!
Neither nail polish with acetone or WD40 worked. I ended up using store bought de-bonder and it came off like wiping water of the counter.
It worked great. Got all of the glue off. Thank you!
Bad, bad, bad advice! Many countertops these days may be made of, say, 93% quartz, the fourth hardest mineral in nature, and so one might think that the countertop can't be harmed by ordinary household substances, but that 93% quartz is by weight, and not volume. The base materials the granite chips are mixed into are acrylics, polyester resins, and other such polymers, ANY of which may be marred by acetone, because acetone is a solvent for MOST plastics and synthetic fibers. Ever try to remove superglue? Well, acetone is a component of superglue remover. If you're still dubious, you can check Wikipedia for acetone solvency facts.
