How do I clean tree sap off my deck?

Tree Sap Removal from Wood Deck

First, check your deck for any loose boards or nails that might need hammering back into place.
Then clean the tree sap off using mineral spirits. Rinse very well, then follow with an all-purpose cleaner and water. Rinse well.

At my old house I had a lot of sap from digger pines. I would hose the deck off and since it was cold water, I would then use a putty knife and scrape it off. Be careful though that you don't gouge the wood.

Trees do not loose sap. Material from trees over cars, decks and other things is honey due or aphid and scale exceretia. Control the insects and there will be no problem.

Use a solution of simple green and oxi clean. Let is set 15 minutes then powerwash. Works on black hardwood sap the best.
