Before washing silk, be sure to check the label for manufacturer's recommendations. Many silks are machine washable in cold water. Be sure to check for colorfastness before washing, to prevent fading. If it is not colorfast, you will need to have it dry cleaned. If the label says to hand wash, use a protein hair shampoo and don't twist or pull. Handle the silk gently and hang it to dry. To spot treat stains, use color-safe bleach or a mix of one part hydrogen peroxide and eight parts water.
I have washed many silk items in cold water before and the most important thing is as it says, test the material for colorfast as I have had one of my items lose some of its color.
yes my 5 year old was giving a pair of pajamas from china. silk i think w i put them in the machin thay came a part in places were can i get tham fix.
I throw everything in the washer and set gentle / cold . . . using Tide. I put in dryer on extremely low heat for abt 10 min, then hang, pulling out as many remaining wrinkles as possible. all it takes after is a quick ironing (cover with a damp diaper and iron over the diaper so you'll avoid scorches and discolouring)
