If you have white spots on your wooden furniture, you should work hard to remove the white, cloudy film or your wood can be permanently damaged.
*Rub the surface of the wood with a soft cloth that has been dipped in one half cup of ammonia and water.
*Wipe the furniture dry immediately and polish.
*If the white spots are still visible, use 3/0 steel wool and olive oil and rub lightly with the grain of the wood, then wax.
*For very deep spots, rub cigarette ashes into the wood.
*If the white spots still remain, you will have to strip off the old finish.
My mom taught me these tips several years ago. They work & work well. I've also used mayonnaise on water rings upon wood finishes & have found that this removes them very well.
What is the ratio of ammonia to water?
It worked werry well excelant.Thank You
I believe that would be ammonia to bleach..
because then..who cares about the white spots!
I've found that tooth paste works well too. Paste, not gel.

this happened to me right after we bought our new endtables, my sister-in-law put a hot plate on it, and you know the rest. My neighbor just happened to stop by and she told me to put mayonaisse on it. I was skeptical at first, but desperate, since they were new. So I tried it and it WORKED!!! At first, I left it on about an hour it took away some of the stain, but I was determined to get it all out, so I piled it on and put a piece of plastic wrap over it and left it over night. The next day I removed the mayonaisse with a dry cloth, it was completely gone. So try this first, before you get the sandpaper out.
this happened to me two weeks after getting my new endtables, i was outraged, until my neighbor happen to stop by and saw it. She told me to put mayonnaise on it!!! I was skeptical at first, but what did i have to lose. So I tried it. I used mayonnaise NOT miracle whip, left it on for a few hours and wiped it off, the spot had faded but still noticable, so I put more on and covered it with plastic wrap (so my animals would'nt lick it off) and left it on overnight, the next morning wiped it off. and the spot was GONE!!!! Problem solved, no ammonia, steel wool or stripping required.
ive looked up all the tips but cant seem to find how to get sausage fat out of a immatation sude i have put bi carb soda on it to absorbe but the stain is still there please help asap thankyou
