Tip of the Week

To clean brass, a commercial brass cleaner designed specifically for this purpose, a lemon cut in half and dipped in salt, or mix equal parts of salt and flour and add enough vinegar to make a paste (spread a thick layer on the brass and let it dry, then rinse and remove). Buff with mineral oil and a soft cloth. If you choose to use a commercial cleaner, try the cleaner in a hidden area to begin with, as some harsh cleaners leave a film on the brass.
