October 8, 2004, Newsletter Issue #96: Cleaning Chrome - Hard water stains

Tip of the Week

Using harsh chemicals on a shiny surface, such as chrome, can cause etching and tiny scratches in the surface. These tiny scratches then attract future build up. To restore chrome to its original shine, use a peroxide based cleaner, such as Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate, or a paste of baking soda and dish detergent. Apply the cleaner to the chrome and allow it to sit for a few minutes. Rinse with clean water. To make cleaning a little easier in the future, you may want to consider getting a water softener.
