October 29, 2004, Newsletter Issue #99: Cleaning & Degreasing Walls and Ceilings

Tip of the Week

To remove grease from your wall or ceiling, the newest technology uses peroxide and detergents to penetrate soiled areas. Simply spray a product such as Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate on the soiled area, allow it to penetrate for a few minutes, then wipe clean. Repeat if necessary. Be sure to try the solution in a hidden area first, to test for colorfastness. You can also try washing the ceiling with warm, soapy water. If any stains remain, make a paste of either cornstarch and water or baking soda and dry-cleaning fluid. Apply the paste to the spot then allow to dry. When the paste dries and becomes powdery, brush it off. Repeat if necessary.
