The deodorant/antiperspirant build up, which also causes yellow armpit stains, is likely caused by a combination of deodorant and perspiration. Many deodorants and antiperspirants contain aluminum salts. When these salts are combined with laundry detergent, especially in cooler water settings, they are not easily dissolved, and they remain on the fabric. To remove the stains and build up of antiperspirant, try soaking the shirts in warm water with an enzyme pre-soak product. Wash in the hottest water safe for the fabric. If the stain remains, dampen and sprinkle stain with meat tenderizer. Let stand for about an hour then launder again. To avoid new stains from forming, always wash the shirts in the hottest water safe for the fabric. To prevent these stains, allow your antiperspirant to dry completely before dressing. Wearing a cotton undershirt under polyester shirts will help absorb perspiration.
I thought the meat tenderizer idea a great one; however most of us are concerned with the clothing that is not washable and the only part of the clothing that is soiled is the underarm. Any more suggestions?
Thank you. I have been searching for the reason for a while. Now I will pay more attention to the ingredients...I'll start my saerch..NOW.
I think deodorant shud be stronger so they really help people not 2 sweat
i always soak my shirts in vinegar, rub meat tenderizer on them and a little mustard and feed them to the idiot next door's pit bulls.Wow,you should see their teeth pop out, cool.I just love watching them gag, almost as much fun as feeding them steel tools! Then I go and buy a new 3 dollar t- shirt, works every time!!
Sounds like a good idea. I'm actually washing clothes right now, and I have this one black sleeveless top that has deodorant stains on it that I just can't seem to break. Never thought aobut using meat tenderizer, but I'll try it. Thanks!
If this works, it'll be great. This is the first concrete idea I have ever gotten
Living in the Southwest, we seem to have yellow stains on white cotton tank tops. Will be trying the meat tenderizer. Have been using the enzyme soak, but some stains still remain. Thanks.
I found this tip to be very useful, as I was with
cold water and on white blouses is that build up
that never seems to go away, not even with bleach
Thank you
NOW I BUY DEODORANT THAT CONTAINS NO ALUMINUM SALTS AND MY WHITES ARE NOT STAINED, BUT OCCASIONALLY I WOULD USE AN ANTI PERSPIRANT SPRAY DEODORANT IN ADDITION, TO CONTROL THE WETNESS. THANK YOU.
What is an "Enzyme" pre-soak product? Ihave no idea!
Use baby powderinstead of
deodarant.
