How do I get the film off the inside of my dishwasher?

Dishwasher Soap Film Removal

The soap you use for washing dishes may clean your cups and plates, but it may also leave a film on the inside of your dishwasher. Try this kitchen cleaning tip for a film free dishwasher: Fill washer with dirty dishes but make sure you have not included any silver or other metals. Place a bowl with 1/2 cup of bleach on the bottom rack and allow the machine to run through the wash cycle only. Fill the same bowl with 1/2 cup of vinegar and this time allow the machine to run through a full cycle.

This sounds like a really good treatment. Do you think that you could use these same steps in cleaning glasses that have been cleaned in a dishwasher but you don't have one.

vinegar will get spots and residue off glassware that is smudged (like globes on light fixtures after you've washed them in hard water). Just try dunking your glasses in a bowl of vinegar for a few minutes, then rinse them quick and dry them good.

Absolutely, my grandmother used to wash dishes in her sink with dish soap and about 1/4 to 1/3 cup of bleach and rinse them in a sink of hot water and 1/2cup white vinegar... her glasses always sparkled!!!

1 cup vinegar at the end of rinse cycle works really great. Just pour it in the machine.

I have a question about using this treatment to clean my dishwasher. You call for removal of all metal items-----so00---my dishwasher is stainless steel on the inside. Does the stainless collect a film and if so should this treatment be used on it??
