How can I remove a tea or coffee stain from my clothes?

Tea and Coffee Stain Removal from Clothing

For a fresh tea or coffee stain, immediately pour boiling water over the stain until it disappears. Or, soak the stain with borax and water, then wash as usual. On old stains, make a paste of borax and water, leave on for 15 minutes, then wash as usual.

Make sure to remove the item of clothing before pouring the boiling water. Or then again don't that idiot sued Mcd's and won when she spilled hot coffee on herself.

This is wonderful advice. However, I don't suppose many people leave a pot of water boiling just for coffee and tea stains. So, I recommend replacing the word 'immediately' with 'ASAP'.

You can also try club soda soak with the club soda rub gently and rinse with the same might have to do this a couple times, small places like in crease use a q-tip with the same if it comes out wash as directed.

Good tip, but if you are in the car and have a spill, may not be the ideal answer.

This tip is fine for 100% cotton, cotton/polyester blends, polyester, acrylic and other manufactured fibers. However, DO NOT use this tip for rayon, linen, silk or wool; boiling water will ruin natural fibers.

Instead, blot the coffee/tea stain to remove as much as possible. With a clean cool damp white cloth, remove as much as possible. Then get it to the dry cleaner as soon as possible. Be sure to tell the cleaners about the stain so they can give it proper treatment.

Dabbing the fresh stain with cold water works well too.

why not just use spray and wash?

That really does work!!! But not just for those 2 type of stains. I do that w/most all types right away & the hot water takes it out. For 'blood' stains-if ever have :-)-use hydrogen peroxide after washing out w/hot water right away.... it works pretty good!
