How do I keep my comforter from losing its shape when I wash and dry it?

Tips for Washing Your Bed Comforter

To keep your comforter and other bedding from losing its shape when it is washed and dried, use tennis balls. Simply place your comforter in the dryer with about four tennis balls and turn it on. The balls will keep your comforter from losing its shape.

Thanks for the tip on washing the bed comforter, it really works. I just found this site and I love it. No more buying everything under the sun at the store and nothing works right.

One thing in addition to all this.....the tennis balls fluff the item in the dryer as it dries. This reduces the amount of time it takes for the item to dry....saves on electric and gas and the whole energy thing...try it....it works.

I used tennis balls drying my bed linens and they got green and yellow splotches all over them from the tennis ball dye.
