How can I remove a chocolate stain from my carpet?

Chocolate Stain Removal from Carpet

Anyone who has ever had to remove carpet stains will appreciate this tip. If you have chocolate or coffee stains on carpet, dab with straight vinegar. That's all it takes. Blot until the stain is removed and blot again with a damp sponge or cloth to rinse. If the smell of vinegar isn't for you, try a mild else that dishwashing liquid for cleaning carpet stains. Pour some onto a clean cloth and blot until the stain is lifted.

I came home from work and my puppy had somehow gotten into chocolate and threw up 2 spots on our brand new home carpet. This tip helped in a way. I only had red wine vinegar so I just used a few drops on a sponge to let it absorb, and then dapped the spot. It helped a little bit. I tried to figure out what else I could use (we just moved in so I'm limited and we have no cleaning supplies here for some odd reason). I took a blind shot and tried out bounce fabric softeners. Believe it or not, they worked! I have a light beige - ish colored carpet and just a few dubs and rubs and the stain came out. I can look at the carpet and it doesn't look like like there's a stain at all! I thought that was pretty neat and wanted to share that with others who might run into the similar situations if not the same.

Thanks for the tip. Hope this helps others. It may not be a garauntee, but I would like to know if anyone else gets the same benefits as I did with the Bounce.
