How do I remove marker from my walls?

Marker Stain Removal from Wall

To remove an alcohol-based marker stain, spray the area with non-oily hair spray or rubbing alcohol.

If the marker is oil based, apply a little lighter fluid (using caution, as this is highly flammable).

If the marker is water-based, use dishwashing liquid mixed with color-safe bleach or prewash spray. Spray lightly, rub gently, then dry.

My kids used red and blue markers on my bathroom wall. I had tried Mr Clean magic erasers, bleach water, dishsoap......nothing was working. I read about using a stain pre-treater (ie Spray-and-Wash), so I tried that. I let it sit for about 30 seconds, and the stains wiped right off, even though 1) red and blue are 2 of the hardest colors to remove, and 2) the stains had been there for 4 or 5 days. Thank you soooo much for this tip!!!
