How do you remove the smell of cigarette smoke from clothes?

Remove Cigarette Smoke Smell From Your Clothes

To remove smoke smell from clothing, spray your clothes with a fabric freshner.

You can make your own fabric freshner by placing two and one half cap fulls of fabric softner in a spray bottle. Fill the rest of the spray bottle with water.

This same formula that you suggest will also work on carpet to get up pet hair. Spray it lightly over carpet let set for about 5 min. Vacumn as usual. What it does is demagnitize the hair from the carpet fibers. It really works.

Fabric softener *does* stain clothing so I personally wouldn't recommend this. I had this happen recently using one of those concentrated formulas in the washer- so I can't imagine spraying it directly on anything. Maybe if used HIGHLY diluted and a regular, not concentrated, forumla. And definitely not two+ capfuls!

Borax powder (or baking soda) added to the laundry removes stains and odors. Put a cup of vinegar in the laundry rinse. I use these methods to remove most odors from my clothes. Unlike most fabric sprays borax, baking soda or vinegar won't leave a lingering cover-up odor. There are alternatives to not having a fragrance in clothes.
