Getting Rid of Odor From Washer

To remove the foul odor from your washing machine let the machine fill with water and when it starts to agitate add about three cups of white vinegar, with a half cup of baking soda. Let the machine run through it's cycles and it will not only get rid of the odor, but will also clean the machine.

Cleaning Combs And Brushes

Combs and brushes can collect grime and deposits from daily use, so it's important to clean them thoroughly on a regular basis. To clean your combs and brushes, soak them in the bathroom sink, half filled with warm water and 1/8 cup of bleach and a sprinkle of baking soda. Then rinse thoroughly and let dry before use.

Cleaning Common Baby-Related Stains

Formula stains are very common to find on baby clothes. If the clothing is white, use lemon juice on the stain (undiluted) and then allow it to dry in direct sunlight. Launder as normal.

If the formula stain is on a piece of clothing that is colored, make a thick paste from meat tenderizer and water. Apply it to the stain and then launder.

One important thing to remember is that you should try to remove these stains as soon as possible after they happen. Do not put the baby clothing in the dryer or use an iron on them until you have tried all the stain removal techniques that you plan to use.

Soaking a baby food stain with vinegar (only white vinegar, though!) before laundering often removes the stains that are made from baby food.

Gum and Car Seats -- A Sticky Situation

The easiest way to get chewing gum off of your car's seats is to use WD-40. Apply a liberal amount to a soft rag and rub it into the gum. The gum should scrape off. Next, go over the area where the gum was stuck with a warm, soapy cloth. This will remove any residue that the WD-40 left behind.
